What is Yellowdog Design?
Yellowdog Design is a graphic design firm which specializes in catering to small businesses and non-profits with a unique approach to affordable print media.
We create logos, illustration, identity, direct mail, brochures and advertisements.
What does it mean to "specialize in catering to small businesses and non-profits"?
Non-profits have to appeal to their constituents for support without looking flashy. Their image should strike the delicate balance of looking good, while
appearing financially responsible. For small businesses it means designing logos and materials that are simple enough so as to have multiple applications,
not gimmicky pieces that are expensive to produce. We work with clients to create clean, catchy design with as much or as little input as they like.
What is affordable print media?
We are always trying to find solutions for businesses that just can't afford a big print budget. We listen carefully and make choices to maximize the effect
of print media. We always customize to the needs of the client in the most economical way possible.
What differentiates Yellowdog from other design studios?
We are not interested in the snobbery of high design, or the flash-in-the-pan style of some design studios. At Yellowdog Design, we like to create printed
materials that are appealing and easy to read. We like to create logos that are transcendent, not here-today, gone-tomorrow. We like to call our style "classic
with an edge."
How has being a member of the Chamber affected Yellowdog Design?
Yellowdog chose to join the Chamber to connect with other local businesses and support a community-oriented organization. At our first New Members Mixer we met
other small business owners with whom we now work closely. The ongoing events give us the opportunity to meet new people and determine the needs of the local
marketplace, allowing us to meet the needs of the Newburyport community.
Why Yellowdog?
Have you ever notied how dogs and their owners resemble each other? These similarities are no coincidence, but rather a profound extension of our own personalities.
For this reason we often ask our clients in order to better understand their particular breed of business, "If your business were a dog, what type of dog would it be?"
